Reset with Movement
Sep 15, 2026
Sometimes emotions show up in our bodies before we have time to make sense of what we're feeling. We may notice tension in our shoulders, restlessness, clenched hands, or simply the feeling that sitting still isn't helping.
Movement can give that energy somewhere to go.
It doesn't have to mean a workout. A short walk, stretching your arms, rolling your shoulders, or even standing up for a moment can create a little space between what you're feeling and what you choose to do next.
In the Back to Zero Framework, returning to zero isn't always about becoming completely calm. Sometimes it's simply about recognizing what we need in the moment and finding something that helps us move a little closer.
Simple Practice
This week, choose one simple movement you can use when you notice your emotions beginning to rise.
- Take a short walk.
- Roll your shoulders and stretch.
- Stand up and shake out your hands.
- Put on one song and move.
Keep it simple. Notice what happens before, during, and after you move.
Pause & Reflect
What changes when I give my body a chance to move?
Movement doesn't have to be complicated or uncomfortable. Choose something that feels good and natural for your body. A small movement is still movement.
Move. Notice. Give yourself space.
That's where the practice begins.
