Micro-Moments of Joy

Micro-Moments of Joy
Joy doesn't always arrive as something big. Sometimes it's the first sip of coffee in the morning, a song you haven't heard in years, or someone making you laugh when you didn't expect it.
These moments are easy to miss, especially when we're moving quickly or carrying a lot, but they are there.
Micro-moments of joy invite us to notice the small things that feel good, bring a little lightness, or simply make us smile. We don't have to make the moment bigger than it is. We can just notice it and stay with it for a little while.
In the Back to Zero Framework, joy isn't about pretending that difficult emotions don't exist. There is room for all of it. And sometimes, right alongside everything else we're carrying, is something good worth noticing too.
Simple Practice
This week, notice one micro-moment of joy each day.
Don't go searching too hard for it. Let it be small.
When something makes you smile, settles you, or feels good, stay with it for a few extra seconds.
You might even ask yourself:
Can I savor this for just a moment?
Pause & Reflect
What small moments of joy have I been moving too quickly to notice?
You don't have to manufacture joy. Sometimes the practice is simply noticing when it's already there.
Notice it. Savor it. Let it stay for a moment.
That's where the practice begins.
Love, Dr. Joy
