       Tend Your Nervous System

Your body remembers. Stress and emotion live in the nervous system and not just the mind. Each time you release tension, you make room for clarity and calm.

Strategy for the Week: Check in with your body throughout the day.  Are your shoulders tense? Is your jaw clenched? Does your stomach feel tight? Gently relax what’s holding by doing such things as stretching your neck from side to side, shaking your hands, or a number of other gentle moves. Listening to your physical cues creates space for a more thoughtful response in emotional situations. 

The body whispers before it shouts.
